An official The Beatles museum is coming to London. The ‘fan experience’ will open in 2027 at 3 Savile Row, the original address of The Beatles’ record label Apple Corps. The location is also the place where the album ‘Let It Be’ was recorded in the basement and where the legendary group gave their final concert on the rooftop in 1969.
The museum spans seven floors and will feature never-before-seen archival material, rotating exhibitions, a fan shop, and a reconstruction of the recording studio. It will also be possible to take a look on the rooftop. Those interested can sign up for news updates about the project via the band’s official website.
Paul McCartney, one of the two surviving members of The Beatles, is pleased with the arrival of the museum, he told the BBC. “Tourists come to England and they can go to Abbey Road, but they can’t go inside. It causes traffic jams and the drivers get really angry about it,” he said, referring to tourists wanting to take photos on the famous zebra crossing. “So I thought this was a fantastic idea.”
