It’s been 67 years since Sir Cliff Richard and The Drifters had their first No 1 with Living Doll. Now the 85-year-old legend is celebrating with his 48th studio album, Only Number Ones. The new record features his personal favourite No 1 hits from Spirit in the Sky and Oh Pretty Woman to Return to Sender and Harry Styles’ Sign of the Times. Meanwhile, a deluxe edition will include 14 of Cliff’s No 1 singles from Living Doll and Summer Holiday to Mistletoe and Wine and the Millennium Prayer.

Sir Cliff Richard, who is the best-selling artist in UK singles chart history behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley, said: “I suggested to Warner Music that I record an album of songs that made it to No.1. Thank heavens they agreed!! I listened to dozens of songs and chose 12 of my favourites. This record is my tribute to fabulous artists who had recorded wonderful tracks that achieved the number one position”.

The announcement added: “Released in what will be his 86th birthday year, Cliff Richard is inviting fans to join him for a special afternoon tea on 15 October 2026 (the day after his actual birthday) at the Intercontinental Hotel in Park Lane, London to toast his birthday and his brand new album. Fans who pre-order any format of Cliff’s album ‘Only Number Ones’ from the official store between 9am today and 2pm BST on September 17 2026 will get the chance to purchase tickets for the afternoon tea event.”
