Rob Achterkamp

Background

Rob Achterkamp It all started long ago for Rob Achterkamp with building small FM transmitters and compressors / limiters. Because yes, it also had to sound good on the radio. It all quickly resulted in the start-up of a number of pirate stations in his hometown of Deventer. However, thanks to a very fanatical local police officer, that all took much too short, which also applied to other attempts.

Unfortunately… Deventer would never become a radio city with a number of good pirates, such as Nijmegen.

Then came – we are talking about the early 90s – the legal local radio stations, but for various reasons that also stopped after a few years.

After a relatively long period of not being involved in radio much, Rob carefully picked up his old passion again in 2016 and started with an hour of radio on a local radio station in the Achterhoek. That grew into “Rob op Wednesday, a so-called syndicated radio program in which you hear music from 5 (actually 6) decades of pop music.

The radio program “Rob on Wednesday” is now broadcast on several radio stations in the Netherlands, Belgium and Thailand!

Rob has been heard in the past on pirate stations with euphonious names such as “Radio Actueel”, “City Star Radio” and “Radio Continu”. In addition, he has worked as a board member, technician and DJ for the immensely popular local radio station “Deventer FM” at the time, and he has made a music program for “Achterhoek FM”.

In addition to Radio, Rob is also available as a voice-over for radio jingles, commercials and spoken texts for corporate films, animations, etc.

Have fun listening to ”Rob On Wednesday”
